Jean has been a quality management consultant for many years as Qualidoc, for which we’ve designed business stationery.  She is also the author of the children’s book “Billy Beaver’s Adventures: Billy Goes to Tea” published in October 2017.

Last year Jean became aware that beavers had been included in UK wildlife projects to encourage their return to the UK after being hunted to extinction in the 1600s.

Jean has had three books and 15 articles published on the subject of international quality management standards.  She decided to publish Billy Beaver’s Adventures herself and asked Colour Connection to design and produce the book.

Jean had written the text and had some black and white illustrations. The challenge, however, lay with injecting colourful design in to her book which would attract children and their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Brendan took on the challenge with open arms.

Brendan said: ‘’Working with Jean was excellent. Our aim was to bring colour whilst respecting the heritage of the story.’’

We have room to grow with the success of the book. It’s great working together on multiple processes from the design to print, as we experience the journey from idea to hard copy.

Billy Beaver’s Adventures can now be purchased around the world…!  We were delighted to work on this interesting and unique project. It’s a bit different from other work we have done and a great challenge. It has been a great opportunity and we are very happy that Jean has received such positive feedback for her book. Jean is very pleased with the outcome and said: “The design for my first children’s book, Billy Beaver’s Adventures, was a challenge for the design and production team but they produced a book which has received rave reviews from Billy’s audience for the imaginative design and the very high standard of production.”
