Our chosen charity of the year for nearly 3 years has been CCP. For those that know us or have worked with us, you’ll know that community projects, charity work and giving back runs throughout Colour Connection.
The Hamper Scamper Appeal is CCP’s Christmas giving scheme to help feed and support young people and families over Christmas each year, and in 2017 we have supported this amazing initiative for the third year running. Christmas, for many, is a time of celebration spent with family and friends. Hamper Scamper is a way of giving to those who may have fallen on hard times or who have been disadvantaged through any kind of socio-economic factors.
How did we get involved?
We have adopted 2 families for Hamper Scamper in 2017 – which means we have been given the first names of parents and children who are engaged with CCP to provide a full food hamper to each family and also provide gifts for each of the children from the chosen families. In addition, we’ve had an extra collection box for staff and colleagues to donate food to the appeal. We’re really happy to say that we have fulfilled our commitment to the cause and we’ve been able to donate food and gifts to a total of £440 to CCP and the families this year.
We’ve been able to donate time to the appeal as well, with Colour Connection staff helping CCP set up their headquarters for storage at Zurich in Cheltenham from Monday 4th December to Friday 8th December, been out with Shaun the driver to collect food and gift donations for two days, volunteered at Tesco in Cheltenham handing out donation slips to shoppers and delivered donation boxes to other businesses who wanted to support Hamper Scamper.
As we say; doing good, is good business. So, we set about working with other businesses who got in the giving spirit at the Hamper Scamper HQ. We worked alongside Ecclesiastical, Creed Food Service, First Choice Events, Yorkshire Bank, Tayntons Solicitors, TSB, Tesco, Spirax Sarco and Fareshare – who have all been brilliant at donating food and collecting on behalf of CCP.
Plus, we’ve worked with Brunswick Homeloans, The Mortgage Brain, Youth @ Heart, South West Apprenticeship Company, One to One Recruitment, Mercure Bowden Hall Hotel, Wavelength Recruitment and many more of our friends to donate food hampers. What a superb effort from our colleagues, clients and customers to come together for a brilliant cause! Well done all!
Plus, Nikki Budding, our chief collaborator, who liaised with Lee Summers from Elmrep to lend a printer for the duration of Hamper Scamper in order for the administration to run smoothly! Thanks Lee!
CCP is aiming for 1400 – 1500 food hampers this year, which will total over £100k worth of food donated by the people and businesses of Gloucestershire… wow! Nothing gets us more excited than working together and in this case, everyone involved needs to be very proud of the ultimate and humbling achievement of making Christmas just that bit more special for the families of CCP.
Get into the Christmas spirit and think of others less fortunate.
Please support CCP in their Hamper Scamper appeal & donate to provide families in Gloucestershire with food this Christmas!
We hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
See you in 2018!
