As a part of the ongoing commitment to our charity of the year, CCP (County Community Projects), we got involved in their annual Cheltenham Challenge event on Sunday 18th June 2017 at Cheltenham Racecourse. The event consisted this year of a 5k, 10k and half marathon routes over the glorious greenery surrounding the Racecourse and up Cleeve Hill. We were proud to be the main sponsors of the 5k run and helped CCP with all the print and design work for the marketing materials used in the build-up to the sell-out event.
The temperatures on the day were touching on 30 degrees so the conditions for runners were extremely hot and challenging. CCP had their work cut out as the heat meant extra considerations were needed to prepare additional water to look after runners and marshals on the routes. Dave Jones, Chris Knight and the CCP team did brilliantly to ensure everyone’s safety..
Our team of volunteers were at the water station on the finish line to gladly rehydrate exhausted runners and greet everyone with a smile! Including, our very own Dominika who ran the 5k challenge. Alongside our friends at TG Residential, we also provided sweets and congratulations to help runners recover! We thoroughly enjoyed the day, we got to meet lots of new and inspiring people – all in the knowledge that the event was contributing to the fantastic causes which CCP support, including preventing homelessness, strengthening families and promoting independence.
Well done to everyone involved, the runners, organisers, marshals and other businesses who gave up their time to help on a hot day and make the event a success.
This is the second year running (pun intended!) that we have supported the event and we are already looking forward to doing it again in 2018!
See you next year !
